Actual footage of my children when requested to pare down the toy tub. ...Except that my kids are cuter. And have hair.
Semantics... anyway- the topic is the toys. And their attachment to them. Even though - they're not being used.
2014, I think I saw some lying around. Indicating usage.
During the season of Lent I have asked my children to pick an item - one each day that is either broken and needs to hit the trash, unused but in acceptable condition that can be donated or clothing items that are too small/no longer worn for whatever reason.
And they act like I'm taking their freshly-made platelets.
My two youngest went down to the toy tub to begin the process and actually started PLAYING with the toys.
Like "pew-pew" and "aww remember this?"
What?? No! You've had your chance. Say your goodbyes and move on. Pick a pile, any pile and deposit your item. Thank you for banking at Mama's Can't Take This Anymore, where getting rid of your items gives Mama a little more sanity each day.
Oh, and if you need some help with this task, have no fear. I'm a mom. That's what I do best....
*Cue evil laughter*
Wish me luck, everyone.
*Walks away singing..."one way, or another, I'm gonna getcha. I'll getcha, I'll getcha..."
